La Yegros is a singer with a unique voice that mixes her Buenos Aires upbringing with her coastal roots, constantly searching for primitive sounds deep within the heart of South America. She studied at the Music Conservatory of Moron, right outside of the city of Buenos Aires, until she was discovered at a casting in 1998 for the Argentine production of De La Guarda that landed her in front of 15,000 people for her professional debut. After living abroad for several years, in 2005 she met up with Dick el Demasiado, who was her inspiration in rediscovering tropical music. In 2009 she released her first EP “Trocitos de Madera” (Dutty Artz) composed together with King Coya and with remixes by El Remolón, Marcelo Fabián and DJ Rupture along with Matt Shadetek. Over the years she has played on a variety of stages around Buenos Aires, throughout Argentina, and abroad. La Yegros is currently working on her highly anticipated debut solo album to be released shortly by ZZK Records.
