While putting the finishing touches on her first solo release Viene de Mi to be released in 2012, La Yegros is touring Argentina for the summer months of February and March.
After her successful show at the Chamamé Rave in Corrientes, she will be playing more dates in Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata, Necochea, Madryn, Trelew, Mendoza and more to be announced.
This December ZZK Records released the debut EP from the newest guys on the ZZK block, SUPER GUACHIN, a young duo from Mendoza who experiment with different video game technologies to bring their tropical beats to a whole new level. Fresh off a successful European tour with DJ Nim, SG rocked their first shows across the pond, blowing the minds of traditional European dubstep and cumbia fans. A few days away from the release of their new music video and rapidly approaching their upcoming full length release in 2012, ZZK is thrilled to be on this ride with the Guachines at the very start of their recording careers!

Chancha via Circuito’s Rio Arriba can’t be stopped!
With excellent reviews in the New York Times, Pitchfork and NPR among others, Chancha’s second release takes the ZZK sound to a whole new level. It was also recently rereleased (in Argentina) into a double disk format, accompanying his first hit release, Rodante, plus a double vinyl with FULL ART in the USA. Rio Arriba changed ZZK history forever, lifting out of the cumbia underground and morphing folkloric Argentine traditions into modern beats accessible to all music lovers worldwide.

We’ll start with A and start going through the alphabet all over the world all year long, coming to a dance floor near you!
Before I knew what an A&R was, I met the Buenos Aires quintessential underground A&R.
I first met Guillermo Canale aka DJ Nim while looking for new tunes for Diplo. The international beat detective himself had come into town for a show, was really interested in Cumbia, played a festival, hung out and then asked if I could help him find some new tracks. I set out to mine Buenos Aires for new music and Marcelo Rondinone eventually took me to Nim’s apartment. We immediately hit it off and he opened up his hard drive to a jackpot of new and exciting sounds. This was the first time I got hipped to Fauna, Princesa, Marcelo Fabian and strangely enough, dubstep.
We eventually would start collaborating together with his label, Bomboclap Records, and Whats Up Buenos Aires, promoting some of his artists and events. The dubstep mixtape he gave me made a solid rotation of plays at my office and eventually I had to book him for a back room party at a BAFICI party we threw. We made the backroom the dubtep room. DJ Nim owned it for 5 hours straight. He’s just that kind of DJ.
Fast forward to 5 years later, Villa Diamante joins the fun, Zizek Club is created, the laboratory of dance spawns ZZK Records, ZZK becomes global and Nim, the quietest and least visible of the 3 ZZK founders, (we all work 3 jobs to keep the dream alive) drops his first ZZK mixtape and gets ready for his first European tour, sharing the bill with Super Guachin.
With unreleased tracks by Frikstailers, Mati Zundel, Nim edits, trans-Atlantic collaborations (we met Jorge in Paris on a ZZK tour in 2009 and Nim collaborated with him with Sara Hebe), Fauna, Duo Calhambre and more, this mixtape has been on solid rotation at ZZKHQ and got me from my office to my apartment in a record 9 minutes on bike. Saboroso!

Fauna’s new album, the follow up to their 2008 debut La Manita de Fauna, is the result of both Argentina and constant touring. Influenced by the music they heard on the road, the album is an exploration in cumbia, dubstep, kuduro and more. Their sound has evolved, production grown in depth and range, and lyrics matured.
Manshines is an album in movement, written and produced in the free time in between tours across three continents, where they performed for crowds at festivals like Coachella, Roskilde, C/O Pop, Distortion and for audiences in over 50 cities.
Pioneers of the global cumbia scene since 2003, hailing from Mendoza, Argentina, Fauna were the first artists signed to ZZK Records and immediately became the label's Trojan horses, banging down walls in 14 countries with their first release. In their La Manita de Fauna album, the rhyming and beatmaking duo of Color Kit (Cristian del Negro) and Catar_sys spread their ragga cumbia sound with lyrics that played with having fun and having consciousness, a portrait of life at the foothills of the Andes mountains.
Mixed and produced by Andrés Oddone and Frikstailers, with Daleduro and El Remolón providing beats, los pibes Fauna expand their vision of cumbia bass, tropical dubstep and kuduro made in Argentina.
