El Búho & Barrio Lindo

El Búho, aka Robin Perkins, grew up in a small town in the rain soaked hills of Northern England. After a year spent living in Argentina where he was introduced to the diverse traditions of Latin American music from Buenos Aires’ digital cumbia scene to Bolivian folklore. His musical education was refined in the clubs of Glasgow and he now lives in Amsterdam where he runs the night SubTropikal and Rhythm and Roots blog and label. He has released three EPs on Rhythm and Roots, Antartek Records and Meles Meles and remixed the likes of Lucas Santanna, El Remólon, Umoja, Copia Doble Sistema and Gulls.

Barrio Lindo, aka Agustin Rivando, grew up in the southern outskirts of Buenos Aires and from a young age showed interest in folkloric sounds.  After living three years in Colombia, he returned to Buenos Aires and became enthralled in the emerging digital cumbia and folklore scene in Buenos Aires.  He started to participate in a production workshop headed up by Pedro Canale aka Chancha Via Circuito, together with the producers Sidrium and Barda.  The influence and experience of this workshop was essential in the development of his sound. Barrio Lindo has 2 EPs released by Bad Panda Records and an LP from Project: Mooncircle as well as an EP together with the producer Cecilia Gebhard aka Barda.
